What’s In My Gym Bag?

I’m the type of person who carries their entire world in their gym bag. I’m talkin’ clothes, snacks, silverware, toiletries… EVERYTHING. You never know what you might need or when you might need it—especially because I usually stroll into my early morning fitness class still half asleep.

Today, I’m sharing some of my gym bag staples in partnership with Tom Thumb and Kellogg’s Happy InsideTM Cereal. It’s one of the many things you can find sifting around in my big ole’ bag.

So, what else can you expect to find?

Dry shampoo – Lately, I’ve been showering at the studio and heading straight to work. Some days, there just isn’t enough time to wash my hair and those are the days when dry shampoo comes in clutch. It’s important to me that I’m aware of ingredient labels in every aspect of my life, including this one. I avoid talc, alcohol and silicone in my products to keep my scalp happy and healthy.

Happy InsideTM Cereal – A super convenient breakfast when I’m on-the-go. I snag them over at my local Tom Thumb and like to keep a cup in my bag in case of a hanger emergency. I love the blueberry (although it comes in strawberry too!). Not only is it a delicious breakfast or post-workout snack but it also has probiotics, prebiotics, and fiber to help support digestive wellness. You might see a trend here but with 100% Whole Grains and a Non-GMO Project Verification, I’m also keeping an eye on my ingredients with my snacks. Happy InsideTM is on the approved list for sure. Reusable water bottle – I am always keeping hydrated, and it’s important to me that I do the best I can to keep my plastic usage to a minimum where I can. Carrying a reusable water bottle with me makes it easy to avoid buying plastic ones all the time. Plus, if I have it on me, I’m more likely to drink it.

Deodorant – Because everyone knows that if you shower too quickly after a workout, sometimes you just keep sweating… haha. In all seriousness, I keep a deodorant in my gym bag, at home and in the office. You just never know when you might need it! I grew up with all natural deodorant but if you’re a newbie, keep your eyes peeled and steer clear of parabens and aluminum.

Hairbands – I am constantly losing them. Can you relate? I’m sure to keep a pack in my bag at all times. I love the twisty ones because they don’t snag my hair. I’ll never understand those ladies who can work out with their hair flying all over the place, or worse, stuck to them like glue from all the sweat. More power to ya!

Extra socks – The one thing I seem to forget most often! I hate showing up to spin or pilates, realizing I’ve forgotten my socks. I keep an extra pair in my gym bag at all times. My favorite are the ‘high-performance’ ones that feel like they’re hugging your feet—so cozy!
